Mother of the Month - Alissa
I am a lucky matetnity photographer. My clients often come for maternity photography for each baby! How lucky to be able to see the families grow and the love that they have for each other. Alissa said something interesting. The photos she loved from her first pregnancy before she had the baby were different than the photos that she loved AFTER she had the baby. This photography session was for her second child. I wonder if it will be the same. Meet lovely Alissa! I have included a series of images from our matenrity session. She is coming back in a few months with this baby.
1. Tell me a little bit about yourself, Alan, how you met. How you decided to have kids, what are your hobbies, what your parenting philosophy is...
I am a stay at home mom that retired from Amazon a year after my first daughter was born. Being a SAHM is the most challenging job I’ve ever held but also the most rewarding. I would say my parenting philosophy is to empower my children and to have fun. I love having two girls and hope they can grow up to be close. Even though my youngest is only three weeks old it's amazing to see the difference in their personalities.
Alan and I both love to travel (although we haven’t gotten to do as much of that lately). We enjoy good food, new experiences and spending time with our family.
We met in Beijing. We both worked at Amazon, he had just moved there from Seattle for a two year assignment and I had just taken an international role that took me to China every other month. We met during my first trip there and after a year, I decided to move to Beijing as well. We stayed there for another three years, then decided we weren’t getting any younger so we were either going to travel for a year or move back to Seattle and start a family. We chose to start a family and now have two daughters. We hope to still take a year off traveling when our daughters are old enough to enjoy it as well.
2. Tell me about why you decided to hire a professional photographer for family or maternity photography, and why you trusted me to take these special photos.
I love documenting every moment I can and I'm a horrible photographer myself. I enjoy beautiful things and Jennifer's work is just that, it's not just a photograph but it's beautiful art that you can enjoy.
