SACRED MOTHER

Jennifer began creating photos for the Sacred Mother series in 2015. In this series Jennifer explores the strength of Motherhood, the psyche of the pregnant body, and the mystery and fear it has provoked since creation.

Jennifer works with each mother to find what is sacred to them and document it using photography. She invites each mother to incorporate artifacts that are meaningful and help convey the psychological inner world of their pregnancy. These inner feelings include ones of fear, vulnerability, strength, and love.

Jennifer believes this time in a pregnant person’s life is sacred and different for everyone. She values the importance of being able to document these intense and changing moments in a Mother’s life through photography.
